Terry Hannabass
Guitar, Banjo,Fiddle, Dobro, Mandolin and Vocalist

Terry held the position of lead guitarist and vocalist for the band Whitehorse for 15 years. After that he has become a staple in the Bluegrass market playing Banjo for the New Grass revue. Joining with Cimmaron in 2001, Terry has become vital to the Cimmaron sound. He plays Lead guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle and dobro. Terry also lends his rich baritone to lead and harmony vocals.

 

 


Jerry Parris
Percussion / Vocals

Jerry has been holding the drum chair for Cimmaron almost 20 years and along with bassist Brian Jones helped define the Cimmaron sound. Jerry likes everything from country to heavy metal and this diversity is one of the reasons Cimmaron has that Outlaw drive. Jerry also sings lead and harmony vocals to complete the three part blend associated with the Cimmaron sound. He is also in great demand in the studio completing projects for Cimmaron and other diverse acts from Gospel to Bluegrass, but Live performance is where he most comfortable. "My job is to create energy and unity that the other players can feed off of. I love it when you can create that "zone" where everybody is having a good time and the people are up on their feet. The fans are great!!"

 

 


Bobby Smith
Lead Vocals / Guitars / Fiddle / Harmonica

Founding member Bobby Smith was raised near Roanoke Virginia in an area steeped in traditional country music. Artist like Buck Owens, Porter Wagner, and Jerry Lee Lewis all performed at the American Theatre providing stong country influences to the young vocalist/guitarist. Bobby has been exposed to country music his entire life and comes from a very musical family. "I always new what I wanted to do" recalls Smith. Being multi-talented himself (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Fiddle, Banjo, and Harmonica) Bobby has always tried to surround himself with the best musicians possible. This quest led to the creation of Cimmaron in 1980 and is what is still keeping the Band going strong today. Bobby is also a very talented songwriter and wrote or co-wrote many tunes on Cimmarons 4U CD.

 

 


Joey McCray
Steel Guitar & Vocals

Founding member Joey Mccray has been playing Steel guitar with Cimmaron since its start in 1980. Also an accomplished vocalist Joeys voice is a vital part of Cimmarons harmony blend. Joey is also in high demand in the Virginia and Nashville studio scene. He has recorded projects from country to gospel. Joeys signature steel guitar playing has been a very large part in creating Cimmarons sound. Some of his influences are country recording great Buddy Emmons, Bruce Boughton, John Hughey, and Paul Franklin. Joey is also an accomplished electric and acoustic guitar player and songwriter.

 

 


Brian Jones
Bass Guitar

Brian is a founding member of Cimmaron and has been there since its inception in 1980. He has studied  music theory and notation with Dr. John Derieks of Juliard School of Music, and classical Bass with Tom Corn of the Roanoke Symphony. Brian is in great demand in the Virginia Studio scene and has played on countless sessions from country to gospel. Brian has played about every musical genra, but always seems to gravitate back to his roots in country, outlaw music. Brian also lends his creative writing skills to be co-writer on many songs off of Cimmarons 4U CD.
